Project: Computer program for youth

Schools in Sri Lanka deal with low budgets and in many cases they cannot afford to buy computers for their students. Research shows that individuals with higher computer skills have higher chances to get a good job.

Project plan

With this project we aim to buy computers for several schools and provide computer courses. The idea is to let students from all ages learn to work with it.

First step is identification of economically disadvantage children then allocation of time for educational of 2 or 3 hours in an allocated period of 5 days of the week. Training 75 students in one course period ( three month ) Training 300 students of one year. Aim to issues accepted certificate to all students after the course and provide this course free of charge.

Resourcefulness required

  • Monthly rental amount required for the location
  • 15 usable computers and others necessary equipment
  • Two computer course teachers
  • One support worker

The total project cost are estimated on Rs 800.000 =2500 euro
