We are Light of Hope Sri Lanka, a foundation driven by love and compassion for the people of Sri Lanka. With a dedicated team of volunteers, we strive to support the poor and vulnerable through direct aid and sustainable solutions.

Our Mission
Our foundation is called to reflect Christ’s love by serving the poor and vulnerable in Sri Lanka. Inspired by the Gospel, we aim to be a beacon of hope, providing material, emotional, and spiritual support, and helping people build a future rooted in dignity and justice.
How the Foundation was Established
In 2024, the founder and their partner decided to go on vacation to Sri Lanka. Before departure, they gathered information about travel possibilities within the country. They connected with a Dutch couple who had been working for years to help disadvantaged people in Sri Lanka. They provided the phone number of a local Christian who would act as their driver for three weeks, ensuring safety amidst sometimes dangerous traffic conditions in the country. This driver, named Dinush Sameera, has since become a full-time pastor.
Our Vision
We envision a world where the poor and marginalized in Sri Lanka can live lives filled with hope. Through our work, we aim to strengthen communities, bring comfort to broken families, offer sustainable solutions for poverty and hunger, and provide disadvantaged children with a brighter future. Our vision is rooted in the commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:39). By focusing on others and standing with those facing difficulties or challenges, we believe we can have a meaningful impact on lives that lack opportunities. We believe every person deserves love, care, and hope for a better future.
Why Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka, the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean,” is a beautiful country struggling with deep poverty, conflicts, and natural disasters. One in four families lives on less than $4 per person per day. Since the fuel and COVID-19 crises, the nation has faced extreme poverty and hunger.
Ongoing inflation and economic issues not only perpetuate poverty and hunger but also lead to social problems, such as alcoholism and drug addiction, which destabilize families and fuel violence.
Additionally, the country has recently experienced severe floods due to prolonged and heavier rains, leaving many homeless and jobless.
As a foundation, we feel called to shine the light and hope of Christ in these difficult circumstances and provide help where it is needed most.
